Four Directors New Play Lab Students spent a good amount of time, in and out of class, rehearsing six sections of Vincent R. Parker’s new play, Something Extraordinary Happens.

Our actors are drawn from HB Acting classes and the extensive HB community talent pool.

Pat Golden took the directors through the process from practical aspects of casting age and temperamentally appropriate actors and setting workable rehearsal schedules, through to the aesthetics of directing — blocking, establishing a sense of place, and developing character motivation and subtext.

Varying dynamics — 4 directorial interpretations, 12 talented actors, each working to create unique roles and 4 different sets, each one with its own distinct atmosphere — result in an insightful, in depth exploration of Vincent’s play.
